Take a spin for Stephanie in aid of suicide prevention
&
The eighth annual Stephanie O'Sullivan Memorial Cycle, which supports Killorglin Mental Health Association and Kerry Samaritans to raise awareness on the prevention of suicide, will take place tomorrow (Sunday).
Stephanie tragically lost her life at the age of 20 years in November 2011.
The cycle starts and finishes at the Nagle Rice Community Centre in Milltown. Cyclists can register tomorrow Sunday from 8am. The cycle starts at 9am with registration fee €20. All cyclists and volunteers will enjoy a barbecue and live music afterwards.
The cycle incorporates two distances of 40km and 80km taking in Killorglin, Caragh Lake, Beaufort, Fossa and finishes in Milltown. It offers an opportunity for novice cyclists to get out and cycle, and for cyclists to train for the upcoming Ring of Kerry Cycle.
“We look forward to another great day out and greatly appreciate all the support from cyclists, sponsors and volunteers in aid of two worthy suicide prevention services in Kerry,” Dan Joe O’Sullivan, father of the late Stephanie, said.
“We hope that we can prevent future loss of lives and the trauma of losing a family member to suicide.”
