Kerry pupils win top prizes in Texaco art competition

Four Kerry pupils have won top prizes in this year’s 65th Texaco Children’s Art Competition.
In the 12-13 years age category, second prize (€250) went to Anna Dunlea (12), a pupil at Fossa National School, Killarney, for her self-portrait, while second prize (€125) in the six-years-and-under age category went to Fallon Murphy (6), a pupil at Creative Kubs, Kenmare, for her work entitled 'Fallon's Portrait'.
Other winners from Kerry, both of whom will receive a Special Merit Award, are Jamie O'Loingsigh (10), from Scoil Eoin Báiste, Liospóil, and Lila Galway (11), from Caherleaheen National School, Tralee.
Prizes will be presented at an awards ceremony next month when all of the 126 top prize-winners will be in attendance.
