Funds needed for defiant Dainora
F
Friends and family of Dainora Berzina have issued a desperate appeal for donations to help fund potentially life-saving therapy. Dainora, who has lived in Killarney for 10 years and is originally from Lithuania, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016 and unfortunately, despite two years of chemotherapy, the cancer has now spread to her lungs, bones, liver and skin and has become inflammatory.
Doctors have given Dainora five months to live but she is not willing to accept this prognosis. Her husband Rinalds says the family are hoping to raise €20,000 to help pay for next generation immunotherapy in Germany. The couple have two children, Emilija (12) who is a pupil in St Oliver’s National School and Gabija (23) who studies science in CIT.
