VW recalls Touareg over defeat device
V
VW ARE never far away from the headlines these days and recently German authorities allegedly find two new emission control devices in 3.0-litre V6 diesel.
Volkswagen has announced it is recalling 57,600 Touaregs internationally after the German motor transport authority (KBA) said it found two new emission control devices on the SUV’s 3.0-litre V6 diesel.
The recall, concerns the latest Euro 6 version of the V6 diesel Touareg’s sold globally, VW has confirmed. The KBA noted, in the latest real-world emission tests, the defeat device was not triggered.
In response to the KBA’s findings Volkswagen has developed a new software map for all vehicles affected.
Meanwhile, some owners are reporting the post-Dieselgate software ‘fix’ cars have worse fuel economy. Others say they have experienced breakdowns and mechanical issues.
