This book offers a food diary as well as wonderful recipe and menus, all featuring everyday food and ingredients.

The beauty of the plan is all consultations are one-to-one and personalised to each individual client. You will meet Pat once a week for your weigh-in, motivation and nutrition advice.

He has a truly enviable track record when it comes to helping men and women achieve their weight-loss goals as well as optimum health and fitness levels. “Weight loss is my area of expertise,” he said. “I explain everything in detail and spend up to an hour and a half on the initial consultation. A key point is understanding why you eat, and how often. You have a better chance of keeping weight off and maintaining a healthy weight when you understand the process fully.”

Motivation is also a key aspect of shedding pounds and maintaining a healthy weight. “Being accountable to someone every week and getting the right advice and being able to eat normal, everyday foods is what sets this plan apart, whether you want to lose a few pounds or several stone,” said Pat.
“Everyone needs a bit of encouragement.”

It is €140 for the 12-week course. This includes the hour-long consultation before you commence the 12-week weight-loss programme.

The annual Killarney Regatta Dance took place on September 25 as rowers, families and supporters came together to celebrate their successful year.

The racing was cancelled in September due to bad weather.

The Killarney Regatta is one of Ireland’s oldest rowing events, having first begun in 1788.

The dance took place at the Killarney Oaks Hotel where there was a lot of excitement and fun. Six rowing clubs, Fossa, Workman’s, St Brendan’s, Commercials, Flesk Valley, and Muckross, came together to celebrate the community and its shared history.

Amelia Counihan was crowned as the Regatta Queen.

The Queen represents the spirit pride and grace of the rowing community and has been a tradition in the club for generations.

Workman’s Rowing Club congratulated Amelia and described her as a woman who embodies everything that their tradition stands for.

The club said: “Queen is more than a title — it is a celebration of history, community, and the spirit of Killarney rowing.”
