Magic of Killarney inspires romantic proposal for US couple
T
TWO visitors from the United States were so struck by the beauty of Killarney they decided to get engaged while on holiday here.
Katie Lane and Ryan Schuman of Omaha, Nebraska, are this week staying in Killarney. “While visiting we spent Saturday hiking near Torc Waterfall,” said Katie. “After finding a nice beach at Dinis, Ryan got down on one knee and proposed.”
The couple, who are staying at the Acara guesthouse on St Anne’s Road, paid tribute to their host Carmel and the people they met during their holiday. “We wanted to share our news with Killarney Advertiser and express how grateful we are to have been able to spend such a special time in our lives at such a magical place,” said Katie. “Killarney is filled with many gems and we will always remember the kindness of our B&B host Carmel!”
