O’Sullivan new leader of British Rally Championship

A Killarney co-driver is leading the British Rally Championship after last weekend’s third round of the series.
Noel O’Sullivan Jr from Muckross is co-driving for Welshman Osian Pryce for the duration of the prestigious championship.
Having finished third on both the Neil Howard Rally and the Nicky Grist Rally already this season the crew improved again to finish second on Saturday’s Grampian Rally near Aberdeen on Scotland.
The result moves Pryce from fourth to second in the drivers’ standings while O’Sullivan leads the co-drivers’ standings.
“We’ve finished on the podium on every round of this year’s British Rally Championship, and with two thirds and a second place finish it’s time to work on getting that win. It’s been a good but not a perfect start to the season, but we’ve strengthened our position in the standings and I can only see things getting better from now on. It’s a good situation to be in,” said Volkswagen Polo driver Pryce.
Fellow Killarney co-driver Mikie Galvin finished fourth in the event alongside Keith Cronin.
The Killarney and District Motor Club crew went into the final stage level on time with Rhys Yates and James Morgan, but it was the latter who prevailed by the smallest of margins in their M-Sport Fiesta.
The Aberdeenshire event was the third round of the 2021 British Rally Championship, and it marked Cronin and Galvin’s second outing since they returned to the series following a three year absence.
The next round of the British Rally Championship is the Trackrod Rally Yorkshire on September 24/25 where the two local co-drivers will go head-to-head again.
