Young artists encouraged to get their colours out

All young artists are being invited to get their colours out and participate in a children’s colouring competition.
Muckross House Library will then select five winners which will be chosen by local artist Ronnie Moore.
Each will receive a family ticket to visit Muckross Traditional Farms. The winning entries will also be uploaded to the library website.
Simply visit www.muckrosshouseresearchlibrary.ie/colouring-page.php to download one of the nine sketches uploaded to their website. Then colour it in as you like and tell them in one or two sentences (50 words max), why you picked that particular sketch.
Email your coloured-in sketch, along with your text, to library@muckross.ie before 5.30pm, Wednesday, July 28, and don’t forget to include your name and age!
The sketches are based on an album of 42 watercolours, which Mary Balfour Herbert of Muckross compiled for her husband’s birthday in 1861. They depict scenes of the Muckross estate and of Killarney’s landscape.
Originally from Scotland, Mary’s works demonstrate her deep affection for Killarney, her adopted home. Many of Mary’s works are on view throughout Muckross House.
