Wellness sessions to raise funds for immigrant charities

By Sean Moriarty
Qi Gong Wellness is hosting a charity fundraiser for St Vincent de Paul and Killarney Immigrant Support Centre tomorrow (Saturday).
The event, on the grounds of Killarney House and Gardens, will give people the opportunity to try the Chinese method of meditation while at the same time raising funds for two local charities.
“This is a fundraiser to support Ukrainians who have arrived to our locality recently along with people of all nationalities displaced by war,” Qi Gong Wellness instructor Noreen Tobin explained.
“This is a slow-moving exercise class in the standing position with focus on breathing. It’s suitable for people of all ages and agilities, practiced in the standing position, works with the body’s energy system to circulate energy and boost vitality and well-being. The gentle mindful movement calms the mind and strengthens the body. It releases stress, tension and tightness from the body, restoring overall balance. So, come along and join together, supporting one another, doing something good for yourself and others."
Sessions are €10 per person and it starts at 11am.
