We are in for a scorcher
Met Eireann and Kerry County Council rarely issue weather warnings for good weather.
They are regular enough features of an Irish winter and yellow wind and rain warnings are common enough in the darker months.
Both organisations have issued a warm weather warning for the weekend. Temperatures are set to exceed 30 degrees in some areas.
“Ireland will experience a hot spell Sunday and into early next week. Day time temperatures will widely reach the high twenties, possibly exceeding 30 degrees in some locations,” said a statement. “It will remaining uncomfortably warm overnight too.”
The warning remains in effect until next Wednesday, July 20.
