Water Mains upgrade underway in Fossa
Uisce Éireann has started works in Crohane and Dromkerry to replace 1.8 kilometres of old water mains along the L-11012 Gortacollopa, from the junction of the N72 at Crohane
. The ageing pipes have been prone to bursts, and the upgrade aims to improve the reliability of supply and reduce leakage.
The project, being delivered by Ward and Burke Construction Ltd on behalf of Uisce Éireann, is expected to finish by the end of August 2025. Some short-term water interruptions may occur, with at least 48 hours’ notice given to customers before any planned disruption.
Uisce Éireann says the work will help secure a more reliable water supply for the local community and reduce water loss.
