Victory for Cronin and Galvin in Prestone British Rally Championship
F
FOLLOWING a thrilling final stage, which saw turbo trio Fredrik Ahlin, Keith Cronin and Matthew Edwards battle it out in motorsport mecca the Isle of Man, it was Killarney & District Motor Club’s Keith Cronin and Mikie Galvin, co-driver, that took the championship crown.
After three days of gruelling racing, the Ford Fiesta R5 driver won the second leg of the rally by just 0.1 seconds from Edwards, allowing him to take home the championship title for the fourth time.
Keith Cronin said: “Matt and Fredrik drove brilliantly and we didn’t think it was possible. Mikie Galvin has done a great job and we have a great team behind us and we kept fighting and fighting, and to win the championship by one tenth of second is just unbelievable.”
