The inquest into the death Rosalyn Joy Few, one of two people killed at the Gap of Dunloe, Killarney while on a pony and trap trip during an Easter family holiday opened at the coroner's court in Killarney yesterday (Thursday).
Coroner for south and east Kerry, Aisling Quilter, said a post mortem had found that Ms Few, of Phoenix, Arizona had died at the Gap of Dunloe on April 9, 2018, of blunt force trauma due to a fall on rocks from a pony and trap, causing traumatic brain injury. Meanwhile, Ms Few's partner Normand Larose (62), originally from Canada and living in Phoenix, Arizona, was also killed. Last August, the inquest into the death of Mr Larose opened in Killarney for the purposes of issuing a death certificate. Death was the result of blunt force trauma with severe brain injury due to a fall onto rocks from a pony and trap on April 9, 2018, the inquest heard. It too was adjourned.
The couple were on an Easter family holiday with Ms Joy’s daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren travelling in a separate trap.
