Tim Jones elected chair of Killarney Celtic
By Sean Moriarty
Well-known Killarney businessman Tim Jones has been appointed as the chair of Killarney Celtic Football Club.
He takes over from Paul Sherry. Mr Sherry’s five-year stint should have ended this time last year but because of COVID-19 restrictions the club was unable to host anAGM and he stayed on for one extra year.
Tim, who runs two busy butchers shops in town, was the club’s most recent vice-chair, a role that has now been taken over by Paul.
“The old adage that says if you need something don’t ask someone that’s busy is certainly true of the new Chair of Killarney Celtic Tim Jones,” said club PRO Padraig Harnett.
Tributes were paid to Liam Shine who gave great five great years of service as club treasurer.
John Somers take on that position. Helen Clancy was re-elected unopposed as secretary with while the additional committee members are Jane O’Donoghue, Mike Courtney and Padraig Harnett.
