A popular Killarney man who worked tirelessly in support of a local charity will be remembered at a table quiz, in his name, to raise funds to help continue his work.

The late Tim Moore, a well-known Killarney accountant who passed away, suddenly, in 2002, was very actively involved in the Irish Pilgrimage Trust which brings children and young adults to Lourdes every year.

To honour his commitment, the annual Tim Moore Memorial Table Quiz has been held in the town de the past 25 years and this year’s event will take place in the Gleneagle Hotel on Thursday, March 22 (7.30pm).

Kieran Coffey, the retired principal of Fossa National School, is one of those who spearhead the Kerry pilgrimage to Lourdes every Easter and he has appealed to the public to support the very important fundraiser which helps offset some of the costs involved.

Several children and young adults from Kerry, with physical and social needs, will travel on this year’s pilgrimage, starting on Easter Sunday.

“We are delighted to be in a position to continue Tim’s great work and to dedicate the quiz to him. It is now in its 26th year and it is always so well supported by the people of the greater Killarney area,” said Kieran.

Ring of Kerry cycle PRO Cathal Walshe will be the quizmaster on the night and there will be some super spot prizes and raffle prizes given away.
