Sweeney nails it as he makes tradesmen final
ON THE TOOLS: Jim Sweeney has made it through to the final 10 of the Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2020 competition.
A carpenter from Killorglin has made it through to the final 10 of the Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2020 competition.
Jim Sweeney (35), who runs Sweeney Builders, has been selected for his sheer passion for the trade, determination to succeed and demonstrating how he goes above and beyond the call of duty for customers.
Sweeney Builders was established December 1988 by Jim Sweeney Sr and it remains a family business today.
From 2,500 entrants in Ireland and the UK Jim has made it into the last 10.
“It is a manifestation of everything we do, attention to detail and very organised in everything we do,” Jim told the Killarney Advertiser.
“It is good promotion for our business – I started with my father when I was 14 during the summers before serving my time in 2002.”
As a first of its kind in Ireland, the competition not only celebrates the outstanding work and professionalism shown by tradespeople throughout the year, but will also crown a winner who will walk away with a €20k bundle including high spec tools, the latest technology to take their business to the next level and training to support their ongoing development.
The 10 finalists will take part in a two-day event co-hosted with Google before the winner is announced at Screwfix Live on October 2.
