Summer camps launched by Killarney Valley Athletic Club

By Sean Moriarty
Killarney Valley Athletic Club has launched a series of summer camps at its track and field arena on New Road.
The camps are aimed at children aged between five and 12-years-old and training will be provided by local Paralympian Jordan Lee and Canadian and now locally-based Paralympian Madison Wilson Walker. Camps cost €100 per child.
“This is not a commercial camp, all profits will go back into paying down the loan we have to build the Arena," said coach Tomas Griffin.
Killarney Valley Athletic Club have a debt of around €120,000 following the construction of the facility that is available to all school going children and teenagers in the town.
Each camp lasts for one week. After an initial four-week run between July 4 and 29 a second will take place between August 8 and 19.
Activities include track and field and basketball, and indoor facilities are available in bad weather.
Booking is available on www.killarneyvalleyac.ie.
