Style in the spotlight for racing festival finale
The final day of the Killarney Races August Festival on Saturday, August 23, will feature the O’Donoghue Ring Collection Best Dressed Day.
Judges Lisa Jordan and James Patrice will select the Best Dressed Lady and Gentleman, with winners receiving a luxury three-night stay in a suite at the Killarney Plaza Hotel and Spa, daily dinner, spa treatments, whiskey tasting, and a choice of a jaunting car or boat trip.
Eighteen runners-up will also receive prizes worth up to €200. Live music from Nicole Lonergan and The Full Shilling will add to the occasion.
Organisers are encouraging creativity, individuality, and confidence in entries. “It’s going to be a great day,” said Patrice.
Gemma Ring, Managing Director of the O’Donoghue Ring Collection, said: “We’re delighted to return as sponsor of the August Best Dressed Day. The festival brings a vibrant energy to Killarney and is a highlight in our hotels, bars and restaurants. The entire town benefits. These events bring a significant boost to our business, and we know that hotels, restaurants, bars, and retailers across the town also see strong trade during the festival. We look forward to another fantastic day of style, racing and festivity.”
The final National Hunt card of the season will also take place, bringing the three-day festival and the summer racing season to a close in Killarney.
