Street view on busking in Killarney
T
THE issue of busking in Killarney has been a hot item of discussion in the past week. Here we get the opinion of the public on the matter.
Busker Kevin Egan, pictured above, said: “Designated times and areas would be great for buskers and that the volume of some buskers needs to be toned down as it can be too loud for people. I’m a guitarist and I would advise my fellow buskers to invest in a tuner and also to mix their material."
Patricia Smith, Dunmanway and Kay Morgan, Bath, England, said: “We don’t find them annoying. Some of them can’t sing but the ones who can sing are great.”
Buskers should have allocated times for performing, according to Peter O'Sullivan, Skibbereen."They can be annoying when there’s too many of them," he added.
Killarney's Frank Lewis noted: “I think buskers are good. It’s nice to have entertainment in the town.”
Meanwhile, Dermot McCarthy, Killarney, added: “Designated areas for buskers would be good.” Dermot McCarthy, Killarney.
