Stolen car recovered before owner knew it had been taken

A
A KILLARNEY man got a welcome call from Killarney Gardaí in the middle of the night last weekend telling him that his car, which he thought was parked outside his home, had been located near the Cleeney Roundabout following a pursuit by Gardaí.
The car had been taken from outside the owner’s residence in the Lewis Road area on Friday night after thieves gained access to the house and stole the car keys and other property.
Diligent Gardaí who were on routine patrol in the area came on the car being driven erratically and endeavoured to stop it and a pursuit ensued.
Two occupants in the stolen car fled on foot after they abandoned the car near the Cleeney roundabout. All property has been recovered and a definite line of enquiry is being followed.
Gardaí are advising homeowners to fully secure their properties at nighttime and car keys should also be properly secured.
