St Brendan’s College travel to London

5th year students from St Brendan's College went to London on their English school trip.

They enjoyed a production of 'The Book of Mormon' at the Prince of Wales theatre.

The following morning was spent touring Tate Modern before attending a tour and a brilliant interactive workshop in Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre focusing on their Leaving Certificate single text “Othello”.

The focus of the workshop centred on the performative elements of the play in relation to themes and character development. 

All students performed with great theatrical verve. 

A brilliant experience for all before attending an acclaimed production of the play in the Theatre Royal.

TV presenter Frankie Foster named honorary Kerryman


Racing TV’s Frankie Foster made his debut at Killarney Racecourse during the July Festival, broadcasting the event to hundreds of thousands of online viewers.


Operating across Thursday and Friday with his signature orange microphone, the London-based presenter interviewed racegoers and highlighted the course’s scenic backdrop across social media platforms.
In recognition of his promotion of the festival, Killarney Racecourse official Brendan Fuller presented Foster with an official Kerry GAA jersey signed by goalkeeper Shane Murphy, declaring him an honorary Kerryman.

Niamh Lordan and Tariq Anwar took top honours at Friday’s Lee Strand Best Dressed competition at Killarney Racecourse.

The Best Dressed Gent won a Trip to Milan for two and a specially commissioned crystal decanter. Judges TJ Reid, Kilkenny hurling player, and influencer Niamh de Brún-Reid selected ten male and ten female finalists after reviewing contenders throughout the enclosures.
Listowel native Niamh Lordan, now living in Cork, won Best Dressed Lady. She wore a rented Leo Lin dress from Labelle paired with a self-designed glass hat, securing a VIP trip for two to Paris and a crystal vase.
Dublin resident Tariq Anwar was named Best Dressed Gent, wearing a white Louis Copeland suit, a Texas off-white hat, and handmade Italian shoes to win a VIP trip for two to Milan.
