Snow and ice warning for Kerry
I
IT MAY not have been a white Christmas but up to 3cm of snow is forecast for most of the country over the next two days.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow warning and snow is forecast to arrive in the southwest first, with the warning in place from 7am tomorrow.
A snow-ice warning is in place for a number of counties including Kerry.
The Status Yellow warning will be in place until 6am on Friday.
The Road Safety Authority has advised all road users to take care when using the roads, with slippery conditions expected.
Temperatures tonight are forecast to reach as low as -4 - meaning roads and paths may be icy, with a danger of black ice.
Climbers and hillwalkers are urged to exercise extreme caution.
