‘Sherry and Soup’ – The Story of the McShain’s

To say Rachel Kavanagh is passionate about history, particularly the families that resided in Killarney House, Kenmare House, and Muckross Estate, is perhaps an understatement!.
Rachel has researched and gathered a wonderful collection of anecdotes and stories in her pursuit of securing an archive documenting the extraordinary lives of the aristocrats of Killarney - The Earls of Kenmare and more contemporary American connection in the McShain family. Their influence in the growth of Killarney town and generosity to the Nation of Ireland must always be remembered.
Rachel works as a guide within Killarney national park. Prior to this, As a law graduate working with a disaster management team. Rachel is also a qualified trainer / assessor but her passion is very much centred on researching the history of the Earls of Kenmare and more contemporary American connection.
