Tonight’s Lakers game has been called off
T
This evening's National League Division 1 game between the Scotts Lakers and LYIT Donegal has been called off.
The Letterkenny outfit have informed St Paul's and Basketball Ireland that they will not be making the long journey to Killarney for today's fixture, which was scheduled to take place at Killarney Sports Centre at 7.30pm.
LYIT have the third worst record in the division (3-13) and with just eight games remaining they have nothing to play for.
Basketball Ireland have yet to confirm whether or not the match will be rescheduled for a later date but at the moment a forfeit appears to be the most likely outcome.
This would result in a 20-point Lakers win and would leave the Killarney side needing just three more victories to clinch a playoff spot.
