Saturdays star Una to play INEC
T
There was great news for local music fans this week as Tipperary singer/songwriter Una Healy was confirmed for an INEC show on Friday, June 15.
Healy, a Thurles native, shot to global fame as part of all-girl group The Saturdays in 2008 and having achieved a huge amount of success with the pop sensations, she is now going it alone on her first ever solo headline tour.
Her single Never See Me Cry was released last week to widespread acclaim. Co-written by Una with Nick Atkinson and Edd Holloway, Una explains: “I wrote Never See Me Cry as an empowerment anthem for anybody who's ever had someone walk all over them. It's a big 'F you' to a lover, a boss or a friend that’s ever made you feel small or worthless. It's a fight song for everyone out there who is sick of being dominated - the tides are turning out there and it's clear that it's our time to take back control.”
Tickets, priced €20, are available now from www.inec.ie.
