Pres girls ensure Daffodil Day blossoms in the classrooms

THE big-hearted students and staff at St Brigid’s Presentation Secondary School were out in force to host their annual fundraiser on Daffodil Day in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.
Of course, sunny yellow was the colour du jour. “Students and staff wore their most vibrant yellow attire and there were prizes for the best dressed,” said school PRO Vivienne Buckley. “The students were quite adventurous in their outfits and a fun-filled atmosphere filled the school.”
Pupils also held a bake sale with mouth-watering pastries arriving from home much to the delight of the students and as a result hundreds of goodies were sold by the lunchtime.
Additionally, a raffle took place thanks to the support of our sponsors who donated many prizes for this hotly -anticipated event. “None of this would be possible without the enthusiasm of the students, sponsors and the staff,” added Ms Buckley.
“Many thanks to the students who were involved and who volunteered of their time supporting Daffodil Day. The proceeds of the events will be presented to the Killarney branch of The Irish Cancer Society who continue to do such wonderful work.”
