Planning appeal lodged for High St car park

By Sean Moriarty
The company behind plans to build a 28-space car park on the site of O’Shea’s Tyre Depot on High St will learn in July if planning permission will be granted. VIP City Parking, which trades as RFC Car Park Management Ltd., wants to build a 28-space car park on the site.
The plan was exclusively revealed in the Killarney Advertiser last October.
The planning department at Kerry County Council originally rejected the application. The local authority cited traffic management issues as its main concerns.
This prompted VIP City Parking to lodge an appeal with An Bord Pleanála which the company did in late March.
A decision on the case will be made on July 28.
