Parts of Killarney golf course flooded

Killarney Golf and Fishing Club says it is business as usual at the Lackabane Course despite parts of the Killeen Course being under several feet of water after recent heavy rain fall.
The 1st, 10th and 18th holes are particularly affected after rising water from Lough Leane spilled onto parts of the Killeen course.
Staff at the world-famous course are taking the issues in their stride, and while the Killeen Course remains out of bounds until water levels drop, the Lackabane Course and the driving range remain open.
“We can’t do anything about it. The lake is very full,” Sales and Marketing Manager Meg Dalton told the Killarney Advertiser. “February is a quiet month anyway, but our members do enjoy winter golf. We will take it as it comes, we are looking forward to when our season starts properly in April, until then, as the lake drops back we will drop back (to the Killeen course). In the meantime Lackabane is still open.”
