Over €3m in funding announced for MTU

A huge funding announcement for Munster Technological University (MTU) has been welcomed this morning (Monday).
Minister for Education and Kerry TD Norma Foley, welcomed the €3,266,915 in funding to support green initiatives and increase accessibility for students.
The funding can be used to support universal access; energy efficiency and decarbonisation; to help students access laptops and other essential equipment; upgrading buildings and other minor works.
“This vital investment will ensure that MTU continues to lead the way in terms inclusivity and accessibility for all people," Minster Foley said.
"This significant tranche of funding will also provide extra resources for students to access laptops and key Information and Communication Technology (ICT).”
The funding forms part of ongoing investment in the higher education sector under Project Ireland 2040 and reaffirms a strong commitment to public investment in higher education infrastructure.
