Outdoor dining spaces under review

Outdoor dining spaces in the town centre are being reviewed ahead of the busy tourist season.
At Wednesday’s Killarney Municipal District Meeting, Cllr Martin Grady called for unused outdoor dining areas to be returned to car parking spaces.
A council official replied that all 2023 licence holders have been invited to submit applications for this year as well as to additional applicants who : “ expressed an interest in making an application in 2024.”
“The Killarney Municipal District Office is currently reviewing all outdoor dining areas in the context of 2024 [Section 254] applications, including those not currently in use, and also additionally in the context of the ongoing detailed design stage of the Killarney Town Urban Regeneration and Development Fund Town Centre and Street Upgrade Project.”
