One person airlifted to hospital following early morning Killarney crash

One person has been airlifted to Cork University Hospital following a two car collision just outside Killarney this morning.
The accident happened about 8am this morning in the Knockeenduff area of the Killarney to Tralee road.
One lane is closed to traffic and is likely to remain closed for much of the day as Gardai conduct an accident investigation.
The incident resulted in traffic delays in town this morning as the alternative route via Coolcorcoran is also closed due to road works and additional works on Rock Road has reduced that street to one lane too.
With the final day of Killarney Races also taking place today, traffic is likely to be busy all day and motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
