New tourism apps launched for Killarney

Kerry Tourism Industry Federation has launched two new Apps for the Killarney area.
The new tourism initiative, a digital treasure hunt has been undertaken by Kerry Tourism Industry Federation, the RDI Hub in Killorglin and Kerry County Council.
The project began at the end of last year and now two example Apps have been developed which will be rolled out in the Killarney area.
The first is called Ciar’s Questwhich is a digital treasure hunt using Augmented reality with a storyline around Ross Island and its wildlife. This is now operational.
The second app will be available at the end of the month and will feature the stage of the “Kerry Way” beginning at Muckross Abbey and along the lakeside route up to the back of Torc.
This will have historical characters presented in augmented reality giving the history at various locations along the route.
