Musicians’ graduation ceremony hits all the right notes

FOUR top-class music students from Kingdom Music Academy, Killarney and Killorglin, took a bow after they were awarded with prestigious London College of Music Diplomas in music performance and teaching at the Aghadoe Heights Hotel recently.
The recipients were Jack Teahan, Aghadoe, who received a LCM Diploma in Piano Performance; Deirdre Keane, Killorglin, LCM Diploma in Piano Teaching; Liadh O’Sullivan, Glenflesk, LCM Diploma in Piano Performance; and Danny Tobin, Waterford and Killarney, LCM Diploma in Classical Guitar Performance.
Their teachers Edel Heenan (piano) and Sean Treacy (guitar) congratulated the students whose love of music that has led them to achieving these awards, which are also taken into account as third-level points for any university course in Great Britain. "Some of our past students have gone into the field of professional teaching and performance after obtaining these diplomas,” said Sean.
Kingdom Music Academy provides tuition in nearly all musical instruments in the Killarney and Killorglin areas. Sean Treacy is also a co-founder with fellow Killarney Rotarian Barry Murphy of the prestigious Killarney Rotary Club Young Musician of the Year competition.
