Muckross House to host harp and music event on Sunday
‘Harps for Heritage’ is a free, family-friendly afternoon open to all ages.The program includes a "Hands on Harps" session from 12:30 pm. to 1:30 pm., where attendees can try playing the harp, with no prior experience required.
At 1:45 pm harpmaker Tim O’Carroll will speak about his craft, followed by a discussion at 2:45 pm. with musicians who will share stories about how tunes are passed down.
The day will conclude with a concert at 3:45 pm featuring harpers Kathleen Loughnane, Catríona Cannon, and Deirdre Granville. They will be joined by Cormac Cannon on uilleann pipes, Aoife Granville on flute, Seán Ryan on whistle, and Caitríona Finnegan on cello.
