After McGrath Cup victory, Kerry get set for opening game in Allianz League

KERRY senior footballers had a very good workout in the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick on Sunday last when getting the better of a plucky home side with the benefit of extra time (3-13 to 2-12) to claim the McGrath Cup.
Eamonn Fitzmaurice used the occasion to blood some new players – in all 24 players saw action on the day – and must have been pleased with the performances put in by some of these, especially Jason Foley, in defence.
So now Kerry footballers have a two-week break before they open their Allianz Football League campaign on Sunday, February 5, with a long away trip to Letterkenny where they face Donegal.
The remaining League games are home to Mayo in Austin Stack Park on February 11 under lights; home to Monaghan in Fitzgerald Stadium on February 26; away to Roscommon on March 5 and then after a two-week break, three games on the trot starting with a home game against Dublin in Austin Stack Park under lights on March 18; away to Cavan in Breffni Park on March 26 and home to Tyrone in Fitzgerald Stadium on April 2. The final is fixed for April 9.
