Mayor supports David Kenny as he embarks on his Olympic debut
The Mayor of Killarney, Cllr Marie Moloney is backing David Kenny as he prepares for his Olympic race walk debut tomorrow morning (Thursday).
The Farranfore Maine Valley AC member is contesting the 20km race walk at the Sapporo Odori Park at 8.30am Irish time.
"No matter what the outcome tomorrow, the people of Kerry are very proud of him. It is a huge achievement to have qualified and to compete in the Olympics and with the help of his coach, Robert Heffernan, himself an Olympic medal winner, I am sure David will be representing his country for years to come,” Mayor Moloney.
“Everyone in Kerry and indeed Ireland will be cheering him on tomorrow and wishing him the very best, he has worked hard to achieve his goal which he so richly deserves.”
