Maryann Heidtke is a Novice winner with camera club
There was a great variety of photos in the Novice category in Killarney Camera Club’s recent Black and White competition.
Last week we published the winning photo in both the Unrestricted and Novice categories, by Iryna Halaieva.
The runner up in the Novice category was Maryann Heidtke with this unique photo of Gallarus Oratory in Dingle.
She said: “The photo was taken on a crisp cold January night. A torch was used to ‘light paint’ one outside structure and one to light up the inside. The sky was perfectly clear that night showcasing Orion's constellation directly above the oratory, this just added to the magical beauty of Gallarus.”
Gallarus is the only intact specimen of its type and is the best preserved ancient church in Ireland.
