Man dead following violent assault at Tralee funeral

A man has died following a violent incident in Tralee this afternoon (Wednesday).
It's believed that the deceased, aged in his 40s who was pronounced dead at the scene, was assaulted at around noon in the Rathass area while at a funeral in Rath Graveyard.
His body has been taken to University Hospital Kerry. The man's wife suffered upper body stab wounds, and she was also taken to University Hospital Kerry where she is currently being treated. It's believed they are from the Killarney area.
It's understood another man was also injured during the incident.
The scene is currently preserved pending a full technical examination and a Garda investigation is underway.
