Man critical after serious overnight crash

A man remains in critical condition in Cork University Hospital as the Killarney Advertiser closed for press on Thursday night.
The man in his 20s sustained serious injuries in a crash in the townland of Buddaghans near Coolick National School in Kilcummin in the early hours of Thursday morning.
A second occupant of the car, a juvenile, received minor injuries in the incident. The road was closed for a number of hours on Thursday morning while specialist collision forensic garda officers examined the scene.
“We are appealing to people who may have witnessed the movements of a Toyota Yaris motor car in the early hours of Thursday morning in the Killarney and Kilcummin area,” a Killarney Garda spokesperson told the Killarney Advertiser.
There are reports that the car may have been stolen but Killarney Garda refused to comment on this aspect of the investigation.
