Liebherr launches engineering scholarship programme
L
LIEBHERR CONTAINER CRANES LTD is one of the world’s leading suppliers of state-of-the-art container handling equipment. The technical complexity of the products manufactured by Liebherr in its Killarney plant is continually increasing and the skill levels required to design and manufacture such equipment requires the highest levels of expertise in all disciplines. This necessitates significant investment in training and development of staff.
As part of Engineers Week 2017, Liebherr has announced a new engineering scholarship programme, commencing in September 2017. The programme will provide a unique opportunity for Leaving Certificate students in the Kerry area, to gain a third-level qualification in an engineering course of their choice from the following engineering disciplines, electrical, mechanical, structural, automation or mechatronics.
Successful applicants will complete their CAO application as normal, and following an interview process at Liebherr the chosen candidates will benefit from an all course fees paid programme for the selected college. The additional benefit of being able to complete work experience during summer vacation and college placements throughout the course term will also be part of the learning experience. Upon completion, a graduate role in the company is assured.
