Lidl plans expanded store following Park Road refusal

Lidl Ireland has submitted a planning application to Kerry County Council for an extension of its existing store on the Tralee Road.
This move comes after the company's previous proposal to build a new store on Park Road was rejected by the council.
The proposed development involves the demolition of the current store and the construction of a larger, single-story building with an increased retail space.
The expansion will also include a range of improvements, such as a new off-licence, bakery, and enhanced customer facilities.
The store will also incorporate sustainable features, including a rooftop solar panel array.
The council's previous rejection of the Park Road development cited concerns over traffic congestion and safety.
The planning application is currently under review by Kerry County Council.
