Knockanes National School awarded €500 by Aldi Killarney staff

CONGRATULATIONS to Knockanes National School which is the latest not-for-profit organisation to benefit from Aldi’s new community support fund. Aldi’s Killarney staff have awarded Knockanes National School a €500 grant in recognition of its tremendous work within the local community and to help support its vital services.
The €500 grant was presented to Paul Horan, principal at Knockanes National School, today by David Allman, Aldi’s Killarney “Charity Champion”.
Commenting, Finbar McCarthy, Group Buying Director, Aldi Ireland, said. “We are delighted our Killarney employees have chosen to support Knockanes National School as it plays a pivotal role in bettering the local community as a whole. Knockanes National School’s work in educating the children of Killarney is vital. Supporting the local communities our stores serve is something that we truly believe in and we are proud to be contributing to the important work done by charities and not-for–profit organisations across Kerry through our community support fund.”
Aldi’s community support fund programme provides each Aldi employee with the opportunity to nominate a charity, community group or not-for-profit organisation within their local community for support. Nominated charities are assessed according to a defined selection criteria, with the organisation deemed the most worthwhile receiving a €500 donation from Aldi.
