A total of €12,000 was handed over to 11 local organisations and groups on Wednesday thanks to Killarney Rotary Club and the generosity of the public.
The monies were raised at the Annual Wine and Art evening in the Great Southern Killarney
in November – a huge local fundraiser which has taken place in the town for many years.
Killarney Rotary Club (KRC) said they were delighted to welcome representatives from the following organisations as beneficiaries of the 2019 Annual Wine and Art evening; Coolick National School, SouthWest Counselling, IHCPT, Stephen Lyne Foundation, Killarney Athletic FC, Tiernaboul National School, Killarney Cougars Basketball Club, Gaelscoil Faithleann, Kerry Stars, Killarney Swimming Club and St Pauls Basketball Club.
KRC President Conor Griffin expressed the club’s delight at once again being able to facilitate the event and make contributions to so many local charities and organisations who all make a positive difference in our local community.
“Thanks to our sponsors Daly’s SuperValu and Killarney Brewery for their valued contribution each year, the local artists who never fail to showcase their wonderful talent which makes the evening a memorable occasion annually,” he said.
He also thanked club members for the effort that is applied every year to ensure the evening runs smoothly.
“We are looking forward to the November 2020 event already!”
