Killarney retains gold medal status

KILLARNEY, Tralee, Kenmare and Listowel retained their gold medal status in this year’s SuperValu National TidyTowns competition.
Birdhill in County Tipperary was named Ireland’s Tidiest Town for 2017, while Clonakilty, Co Cork, was named Ireland’s Tidiest Small Town. Birdhill was awarded 332 marks in the competition while Clonakilty earned 330 marks.
The prize for tidiest large town went to Westport, Co Mayo (331 marks), while Ennis, Co Clare (331 marks), won the award for Ireland's tidiest large urban centre.
Killarney, which notched 328 marks in the contest, was highly commended.
