Killarney Primary Care Centre plans

Health Minister Stephen Donnelly has confirmed that plans are underway to establish a new primary care centre in Killarney.
In a letter addressed to Kerry County Council officials, and seen by the Killarney Advertiser, Minister Donnelly announced that a planning application has been submitted.
The primary care centre is expected to alleviate pressure on the overcrowded accident and emergency department at University Hospital Kerry.
Minister Donnelly's announcement was made public at a meeting of Kerry County Council on Monday.
However, he did not state where this nee centre is to be built.
A next Friday’s Killarney Municipal District meeting Cllr Martin Grady is to propose converting the existing District Hospital to a Primary Care Unit. That hospital is due to be vacated later this year or early next year once construction of the new Community Hospital off Lewis Road is completed.
