Kerry star’s first game since horror car crash

By Sean Moriarty
A Kerry footballer has returned to the playing pitch for the first time since suffering serious injuries in a car crash 18 months ago.
Kilcummin Intermediate Club player, Sean O’Leary, was a passenger in a car that crashed near Abbeyfeale in July 2021. He suffered two broken legs after the horror road collision.
Now studying for a Masters's in Financial Planning at the University of Limerick, O’Leary made his competitive debut for the university’s GAA club last week.
UL GAA is preparing for the inter-colleges Sigerson Cup which gets underway in January and O’Leary lined out for a challenge game between all members of the extended panel.
“It is great to be back playing, I have been training for the last two or three months but this was a full-on 45 minutes challenge game,” he told the Killarney Advertiser.
“The right leg feels good.”
O’Leary will surely be on Jack O’Connor’s radar ahead of the business end of the Gaelic football season next summer.
