Kerry exhibitors set off for Holiday World Show Dublin 2017

THE Holiday World Show Dublin, taking place at the RDS Simmonscourt from January 27 to 29, is billed as the only show where you can meet over 1,000 travel professionals from around the world to plan your dream holiday and take advantage of show-only specials and deals.
Kerry exhibitors targeting the 30,000-expected attendees at this year’s Holiday World Show include Castlerosse Hotel & Holiday Homes, Killarney Tourist Office, the Lake Hotel Killarney, Tralee Chamber Alliance and Muckross Park Hotel & Spa.
For three days the Holiday World Show will transform the RDS Simmonscourt into a hub of exotic, vibrant, multi-cultural activity; from the Americas to Asia, Africa to Europe and not forgetting Ireland, visitors can literally experience the locations on offer in a way that is not possible on the internet. Whether you're seeking that once-in-alifetime trip, planning a well deserved family holiday or making plans for a romantic getaway, the Holiday World Show is the must-attend event of the year.
This year’s Home Holiday Pavilion is the biggest one yet with exhibitors coming from all across our beautiful island. Fáilte Ireland will also be joining the Home Holiday Pavilion to showcase their Virtual Reality (VR) headset and allow visitors to experience 360° views of the Wild Atlantic Way live from the show.
2017 sees the return of Aer Lingus, the Greek National Tourism Organisation and the Italian State Tourist Board to the show, for the first time in many years, as well as an array of new exhibitors attending for the very first time, including Qatar Airways, Argentina, Japan National Tourist Organisation, Grand American Adventures, Pristine Mountain Adventure, Explore St. Louis, Bespoke India Travel and Botswana Tourism Organisation.
The Holiday World Show 2017 will again host the free Eoghan Corry Travel Summit in association with Dublin Airport facilitated by renowned travel journalist Eoghan Corry where leading industry experts will share their expertise and answer visitors’ questions on topics such as The Americas, Cruises, Ski and Snow Holidays, Solo Holidays and Exotic Destinations, as well as Home Holidays. Eoghan’s guests over the course of the weekend will include Olympic silver medallists Paul and Gary O’Donovan (3pm on Saturday, 28th January), Kathryn Thomas, television presenter and former Irish Travel Journalist of the Year, and Vincent Harrison, Managing Director of Dublin Airport.

Taoiseach makes historic first visit to Beaufort schools
An Taoiseach Micheál Martin made a historic visit to St Francis Special School and St Mary’s of the Angels on Wednesday afternoon, marking the first time a serving Taoiseach has visited either Beaufort facility.
The visit followed a recent Dáil invitation extended by Kerry Fianna Fáil TD Michael Cahill, who accompanied the Taoiseach alongside local Councillor Tommy Cahill. During the tour, the Taoiseach met with management, staff, residents, and families to observe the services firsthand and discuss operational challenges.
Both Michael and Tommy Cahill welcomed the visit, emphasizing the campus’s potential to become a super respite centre of excellence for children and adults with profound disabilities.
“This was a truly historic occasion,” Deputy Cahill said. “The Taoiseach had the opportunity to see the excellent facilities on the campus first-hand and, importantly, to hear directly about the challenges and concerns they face. There is huge potential here to further develop respite and enhanced services.”
Councillor Tommy Cahill added that the visit was a significant day for service users and staff. He confirmed ongoing engagement with government departments, St John of God, the HSE, and local stakeholders to ensure the site’s full potential is realised.
