John Kelly remembered at Retired Nurses AGM
A
At a well-attended AGM of the Retired Nurses Association Kerry Branch held recently in the Killarney Court Hotel the following officers were elected:
- Chair: Ned Brosnan
- Vice-Chair: Denis O'Donoghue
- Secretary: Nora Moynihan,
- Assistant Secretary: Maureen Young
- Treasurer: John Rice
- Assistant Treasurer: Dan Dwyer
- PRO: Neil O'Sullivan
The guest speaker at the meeting was the crime prevention officer of the Kerry Division of An Garda Siochána, James Foley, who delivered an excellent presentation on personal and home security.
The past year was very successful for the branch with many new members joining the association. There was also much praise for the social activities programme which was organized by the very vibrant activities sub-committee and a similar programme will be planned for the year ahead. During the past year the branch was saddened at the passing of a number of long-standing and faithful members and votes of sympathy were passed to the respective families of the deceased.
A special tribute was paid to the recently deceased PRO John Kelly RIP. John had given outstanding service to the association over the past 17 years and there was general agreement that his untimely death leaves a void in the branch that cannot be filled. Membership is open to all retired nurses and for information on how to join please contact any of the officers or committee members.
