Jason Byrne to bring hilarious ‘nostalgia comedy’ to Killarney

HIS madcap antics and unique brand of nostalgia comedy will have tears of mirth rolling down your cheeks when Jason Byrne takes centre stage in the INEC, Killarney, this Friday, January 27.
The biggest selling comedian at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Jason Byrne’s inspired, original brand of high-energy fun has ensured there’s no other comedian quite like him.
The Dubliner’s sellout shows have garnered accolades including the highly coveted Perrier Newcomer Award Nomination and the Perrier Award Nomination.
“I think people identify with the nostalgia element,” he told Killarney Advertiser. “We’re all familiar with the figure of the Irish mammy from our childhood and situations such as putting back the Christmas decorations. All my dad had to do was spend and extra tenner for a longer ladder but instead we kids just basically had to do a leap of faith into the attic!”
Jason’s television credits include Live at the Apollo (BBC One), Comedy Annual (ITV1), Dave’s One Night Stand (Dave), The Channel 4 Comedy Gala (Channel 4), John Bishop’s Only Joking (Sky One) and Anonymous (RTÉ2).
His radio credits include Just A Minute (BBC Radio 4), And The Winner Is…(BBC Radio 2) and of course, Father Figure (BBC2). He has also hosted three series’ of The Jason Byrne Show (BBC Radio 2), for which he won the Sony Radio Gold Award for Best Comedy in 2011.
With a growing international profile, Jason has performed in New York, Boston, Hong Kong, Singapore, Brussels, Milan, Paris and Australia.
