IT Carlow defeat Lakers in League Cup quarter final
Division 1 League Cup
Scotts Lakers 86-96 IT Carlow
Killarney Sports Centre
The Scotts Lakers' 2018/19 season came to an end this afternoon following a closely-contested defeat at the hands of IT Carlow in Killarney.
The Lakers had qualified for today's League Cup quarter final by virtue of yesterday's blowout 115-63 win over LYIT but unfortunately they were unable to get the better of a strong Carlow side in the last eight.
The hosts led by four at the half-time interval but Carlow rallied in the third and led by a single point heading into the fourth. The Lakers were left short-handed by an injury to Séamus Brosnan at the end of the first half and the visitors took full advantage down the stretch, eventually running out 86-96 winners.
Commiserations to Coach Cormac O'Donoghue and his players and well done to the club on another successful season in the National League.
